I have a few new elements in this list - and I have found these incremental changes really help a lot when it comes to pushing me to complete painting projects.

Et tu Brute?
Posted by
Calypso2ts
It might be the change in weather, or it might be that I started running/hitting the gym again but Spring has somehow resulted in more motivation to paint, build army lists and generally be more productive. The past two weeks, I took the time to work on one of the 3 Helbrutes that I need completed as part of the list I plan to bring with me to the next Millennium tournament.

hyv3mynd's Eldar + Dark Eldar @ September 1850pt RTT: Game #2
Posted by
hyv3mynd
After a strong victory in round #1, I was paired against Craig's CSM+Daemons for round #2. I've faced Craig several times in the past and he's always given me tough games, also defeating me on several occasions. Believe it or not, this is also the first time I've had to face multiple heldrakes in a 1v1 tournament setting.

1500pt July Tournament - hyv3mynd's Game #2
Posted by
hyv3mynd
The July tournament at Millennium Games was a 1500pt format with judged painting and player ranked sportsmanship & comp. The breakdown was 15/7/3 battle points for win/draw/loss with up to 15pts for painting and 15pts for sportsmanship/comp. The new Eldar codex (and wraithknight in particular) was calling to me so I put together this list. My goal was to use as many painted models as possible with no special characters or duplicates (cept 2 rhinos) to max my soft scores. Game #1 can be found here.
Farseer + spirit stone of anath'lan (game #2 warlord - acute senses, prescience, guide, terrify)
Ordo Malleus Inquisitor + terminator armor, psycannon
Henchmen - acolytes x4 w/ melta x2, jokaero
Chimera + searchlight
Guardians x10 + bright lance platform (DE warriors proxy)
Rangers x5
Strike Squad x5 + psycannon, hammer
Rhino + searchlight
Strike Squad x5 + psycannon, halberds x2
Rhino + searchlight
War Walkers x3 + scatter lasers x6
Wraightknight (stock)
Nemesis Dreadknight + teleporter, hvy incinerator

The Word Bearers of the 231st Host
This week I thought I would take a break from terrain construction (don't worry, I am still working on some new pieces for future articles) and delve into some of my current modeling projects that I have going on with my Word Bearers army. But before I show off my current works in progress I thought I'd go into when and why I chose to go with the Word Bearers. I started collecting chaos marines in 2005-2006 or so when then Chaos 3.5 codex was out. At that time my main focus was with my Tau and Necron armies so working on chaos was a side project.

Adepticon Team Tournament Primer Games 1 and 2
Posted by
Grubnards
Two weekends ago I participated in a team tournament with a
friend of mine who goes by the name sinistermind on this and other boards.
Since we both seemed to have been touched by chaos at an early age we decided
to run a dual chaos list. You can read our list selections and our plan of
action over here. This was the same event the Calypso2ts, Crispy, Hvy3mynd, and Crimthann all attended as well. As luck would have it I do not believe any of us got paired up against each other. There was a solid turnout of 26 players, or 13 teams, which meant the TO played as the ringer.
We felt pretty good with our lists going into the morning
because our two practice games ended up with two wins for us and we felt that
we had a good synergy between our two vastly different styles of armies.

March Blog Update & CSM Rebuild Update
Posted by
hyv3mynd
March was an exciting month for the Mandulian Chapel. We saw our 300th post and brought our 5th author on board. Crimthaan (Andy) posted yesterday's article and will be a resident Space Marine player and fluff enthusiast. Now that we have five authors, it will be our goal to get in one article per day Monday through Friday. Our content will span from fluff to theory/mathammer, terrain, painting, converting, and battle reports. Together, we share a deep passion and respect for the hobby and the desire to share our thoughts and discuss our experiences. I hope you enjoy the additional content!

Adepticon Style Team Tournament - List Building Ideas
Posted by
Crispy

March at Millennium Games in Rochester means it’s Adepticon Team Tourney practice time. While I won’t be heading out to Adepticon this year, I still wanted to get in on some team action. I’ll be teaming up with my co-author Calypso2ts to bring either a Chaos/Daemon or Nid/Nid army to the event. The other Mandulian Chapel authors (Hyv3mynd & Grubnards) will be present, along with the Da Boyz and Beef & Wing crews. If you’re able to, come on out and join us. It’ll be the 9th of March at Millennium Games in Rochester NY, with registration starting at 9:30AM and dice dropping around 10AM.
Anyway, I wanted to throw out a few list builds to talk about. Each player is limited to 1K, and has to conform to a modified force org (see below). Because each teammate is restricted to 1K, there’s a few things to think about in terms of list building. Do you try and go for a well rounded list, knowing that you don’t have full access to your toolbox, or do you try to focus narrowly?
Calypso2ts and I aren’t sure if we want to do CSM & Daemons or Double Tyranid, so I’ll present a couple of lists for each. These lists will be my side of the team equation. Check out the format of the event below the fold, and I hope to see you there.

Its a jungle out there... or is it?

Grubnards
Hi, my name is Kevin (aka grubnards on various 40k boards) and Hyv3 asked if I would like to contribute to the Mandulian Chapel. Since I make a lot of terrain, tinker with conversions, and generally try to get creative with my models I figured I would write a series of article dealing with terrain.

Batrep: Grey Knights vs Chaos Marines and Guard 1850pts
Posted by
hyv3mynd
I've been able to start sneaking in more games recently. Work's been keeping me out of the monthly tournaments so I haven't been working on any tournament builds, just fun stuff I've been wanting to try. This week, Chris from Buffalo (sinistermind) accepted my challenge and brought out a Typhus list. This was also exciting for me since I'm working on a Typhus list of my own.

The Battle for Mith'ler
Posted by
hyv3mynd
This week's battle report is a special treat. Kevin (grubnards) and I planned out a 2,000pt game with mostly painted armies (pardon my mycetic spores) and I asked him to write-up the game from a cinematic perspective. Army lists and a turn-by-turn can be found here (bottom of the page). If you enjoy this format, voice your support with a comment and I may be able to persuade Kevin to write stories for the blog on a more regular basis.
