Manglers! & More WIPs

Just a quick update today. This week has turned into a beast at work, but I'm looking forward to getting in a laid back game of fantasy Wednesday night. Right now I'm a bit brain fried.

Anyway, I've just about finished my two Mangler Squigs. All I have left is a little bit of basing work.

For this project I wanted to try out a couple of techniques. First up was a simple blend using an airbrush. As you can see in the pictures below, I went for a bleached bone underside, and a colored top. I think the results came out pretty good.

Not pictured was my try at oil washes. I have to say that my first try wasn't a great success  but I think it was my fault. I didn't gloss coat the models before I applied the oil wash, and the resulting shading was a little disappointing. The next time I try it out, I'll try to take pictures of the process. Since this was my first time, I didn't think it was ready for the blog.

After drybrushing highlighting colors, the oil wash, and a few glaze layers, this is what I got.

I've also been working on the 50 Savage Orc bases (10 Boar Boyz).

    1. I'll try to post to the forum tonight. They're from the Citadel Wood terrain piece. I made negative molds using a green stuff like material, then I just press bases topped with green stuff into them.
