Tournament Day

If you've followed for long, you know the second Saturday of the month is tournament day.  Today's event was a blast with a team tournament, but with a random partner each turn.

I also played a practice game this past Monday with 3 buds for practice and warm up since I haven't thrown dice in 3 weeks.  Four battle reports will be coming in over the next few weeks from these games.  In the meantime, here are some teaser pics from today.  Stay tuned for the full reports.

I also have material to write some hobby articles on painting the new tyranid scheme and making the bases.  As you can see from the pics, I was able to get all the bases done and the small army base coated.  They aren't finished, but it's a good start and really got me motivated to repaint the collection for 6th edition.

Next month there are two events which are non-comp so I will be starting some new models to add to one of my armies.  I plan to use a special character which has had me thinking for a year or so and I've never used a single special character in a tournament in the past two years.  That hobby project is going to be under wraps until the events, but that's what you have to look forward to next month.

  3. Good pics Aaron, these look like they capture the actual color of your 'nids a bit better and congratulations on the win. Look forward to the reports, I did not get a chance to follow your first or second game.

  4. Thanks guys.

I got half way through the first tournament game before I realized I hadn't written up the practice game yet so that's coming first, then maybe the first tournament game Friday or so.

My painting project for next month's event is potentially even more ambitious so I have to carefully balance painting and writing time for the next four weeks.
