Busy Month...

Well, I've been chipping away at my batreps but I've been falling behind on emails and other content.  I apologize to those who have unanswered messages in my inbox.

I've been pushing very hard to get some new models assembled for some events this month.  This Saturday, June 11th, Millennium Games is hosting their monthly 40k tournament.  It's a new format for them and resembles the GW Throne of Skulls event.  Games will only be 1250pts, but we'll be playing 4 games instead of 3.  Prizes will be awarded for the top Imperial player, top Xenos, and most VP's collected so I'm trying some new stuff out.

Also, next Saturday June 18th, Millennium is also hosting their quarterly 40k lock-in event.  The format is 1,000pts per player with similar restrictions as most doubles events.  However, initial team pairings will be random, then followed by loser's choice and other differing pairing processes over 4 games.

Both of these events look like a lot of fun and a big (and welcome) change from the super competitive games I've been playing lately.  I highly recommend both events and hope my readers in NY and PA can make it.

I also have a big project in the works for DaBoyz GT 2011 so I assure you I've not been sitting on my thumbs.  I have 10 boxes of models in various state of assembly and some freshly painted figures (some of my best ever!), but for now this project is *classified* to be revealed at a later date.

Finally, the last little tidbit that's been keeping me away from the computer is another exciting piece of news.  My wife and I are proud to say we're expecting our first child!  We've known since before the ATC, but due to timing and our family, it took a while to meet and tell everyone in person.  As you can imagine, it's added another whole level of insanity to my life which I'm still (and will be fore the rest of my life...) adjusting to.

I just wanted to thank all my readers for sticking with me and your patience during this crazy time in my life!  I should get another batrep up tonight and I still have 14 more on file and coming soon.  After that, I'll transition into documenting my progress towards DaBoyz GT 2011 and the army I plan on bringing.

  1. Congrats on the incoming kid! I expect him/her to be rolling dice before they learn to walk.

Haven't posted in a while, but I've been really enjoying the ATC bat reps. Thanks for putting them up.

  3. Congrats to the two of you (& Chris from Buffalo). Things seem to start off slow, then pick right up. When my daughter was born, I had enough time (between the feedings and naps) to paint a 3K CSM army. These days, I'm lucky if I can get a unit/month done. Totally worth it though.

    Congrats again,

    -Chris

  4. Thanks Chris, Chris, and Tim. Luckily, my wife is passing out around 8pm every night so I'm able to fit 4-5 hours of painting in. If I can get my painting and terrain done by DaBoyz GT, I'll be in the clear by the time the baby arrives. We're due on December 13th!

  5. yea i have alot of painting ahead of me for grey knights but luckily its a low model count army so i can put in a little more time to each model, and i just got in the forgewolrd vehicle doors ive been waiting on.

i wish i could get a table ready for the GT! because like alot of people in rochester, when i make terrain i go all out on detail/planning/design....but unfortunately i dont think a table/terrain would fit in my chevy impala without ruining it(even though it has a huge trunk lol)

thats cool though gotta love birthdays near xmas ha. we're due jan 5th

  6. Sorry I'm late to the congratulations party. I thought I left a comment but either the system ate it or I just derped and closed the tab before it posted or something equally dumb.

Either way, congratulations on the new little bundle of biomass... I mean joy. I still remember when my son was born a little over 2 years ago, one of the best days of my life. He can be a handful when he wants to be and cuts down on my free time but I wouldn't trade him for anything.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the battle reports and I know you'll have lots more great stuff to post. Congratulations again and be sure to keep us updated!
