Parkhammer Wrap-up

The second annual Parkhammer event is in the bag. First off, thank you everyone for coming out and making it a great day. I know everyone's time is precious as we're all pretty busy, but I do appreciate you coming out. For the last couple of years, it has been a real highlight of my summer seeing so many friends in one place, and having a great time. Thank you.

Over the course of the day, we had 50+ people in attendance. On top of 40K & Fantasy, people were rocking board games, card games, and Mordheim. We also had a ton of great food. There were a handful of Chili contest entrants, and 5 entries in our mini painting contest.

I'll hit the high points below the fold, but you can expect a few battle reports and a full rundown of the Tzeentch Sorcerer painting challenge in the next few weeks. Enjoy!

It was sunny for most of the day, with spots of rain. Even so, we were protected in this covered pavilion.

First off is our Tzeentch Sorcerer painting challenge. Hyv3mynd made large chocolate ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, along with smaller ribbons for anyone that entered. Next week I'll post up detail shots of all the entrants. I know I tried a few new techniques like non-metal metallics.

Winner's of this year's Chili Contest: Craig & Christine (At this point in the day, they were 9th level wizards).

Craig & Christine

In addition to the festivities I was able to get in a game of Fantasy against Tim (Ulf Hreda on the forums) with his Dark Elves, and a game of 40K against  with his Space Marines. I'll be going into both of those games in 2 weeks.

Don't Rock the Boat, Balance on the High Seas has met its masters!

Again, thank you everyone for making it out and making it a great time. I'm sure I'll be seeing you over the summer at various events. We're planning on making this an annual event, so hopefully we see you there next year.

  4. Had a great time at Parkhammer - well done on the organization. There was so much food there, how long did you eat leftovers for after it ended?

    1. About a week. I froze down my leftover chili and had it on the 4th at another party. :)
