Daemons - Khorne Daemonkin - Review - Part 1

I picked up the Khorne Daemonkin book - a digital copy - right when it came out.  Although I have not traditionally been a Khorne player (says the guy with 36 Flesh Hounds, 2 Skull Cannons, 6 Bloodcrushers and 2 Heralds of Khorne), I really liked the integration I was seeing with CSM.  For those considering the book - I highly recommend it if you are looking for a way to revitalize your CSM and add more depth/flexibility to a Daemon army.  The fluff is a bit redundant - let's be honest, there is not a lot of depth when it comes to Khorne - but there are some cool stories and marking schemes to help differentiate squads.  In this article I plan to cover the special rules in the book, and what makes it different from individual CSM/Daemons.

Accidentalcon - 2015

I have always wanted to attend Adepticon, but it just has not worked out in the past.  Both my daughters were born in March over the last two years and before that I was a poor graduate student.  This year looked to be more of the same and I was targeting 2016 to make the trip out.

As luck would have it, I had a business trip the week of Adepticon anyway, and I connected through Chicago O'Hare.  It was around 6:00 pm on Friday when I learned my flight home was cancelled.  I then learned that there were no other flights available until Sunday at 7:00 pm...

Model Showcase: Convergence of Cyriss

     It's certainly been a while since my last blog post, so I figure that my first post back after almost a year should include some of the things that have pulled me out of my hobby malaise.

     First up are a few Warmachine models from the Convergence of Cyriss range. I used to play Hordes in the Mark I days, but got out of it when I moved to NY from MI. Locally, both in Horseheads and Rochester, Warmachine/Hordes has picked up quite a bit of steam. Millennium hosted a tournament that drew over 25 attendees, and Buffalo recently hosted a Food Machine event that was specifically recognized by Privateer Press for the most cans donated (Great job!). I’m slowly getting back into it.

     Of all the things that have been exciting me to hobby, bases have engaged me the most. Weird, right? I’ve been experimenting with a laser engraver at a local maker space in Ithaca, NY. Each of the models here have a base with a laser etched insert. These were my first shot at it, and I was aiming for a Greco-Roman style. Since I made these, I’ve already though of new ideas to try. I think my next generation of ideas will be more steampunk-like.
